CAPITULATIONS AND MEDIEVAL MARKET - April 2011 Each April, Santa Fe schedules a series of events commemorating the signing of the Capitulations between the Catholic Kings and Christopher Columbus in 1492. During the official ceremony, each year the city renews the vows of sisterhood that keeps with eighteen people, mostly from Latin America. The town hosts over the weekend of April 17 up to 45,000 people with tourist and cultural attractions as the consolidated Mediaeval market, concerts, exhibitions, tournaments, medieval dances, cultural visits to the main monuments of the city, music cycles, parades and theatre, in an ambience that recreates to the smallest detail the medieval atmosphere of the time. Santa Fe is adorned with awnings, flags and colourful banners and its people live with the tradition of a party that every day brings more tourists. The Hotel Casa del Trigo,as it could not be any other way, becomes in these days in the Wheat Inn, decorates its facade and terrace at street level and is ready to live the most popular festivals of the city during the three days of the Medieval Market.
